It’s hard not to find a view when it comes to the Poconos. From the beautiful sunsets to the mountain views around every corner, there is no doubt this is one of the most beautiful places to spend time.
If you’re looking for a place to eat while you’re here, check out some of our favorite restaurants below.
Aptly named, Lakeview is located at The Inn at Skytop Lodge. It’s one of the best spots for those who love the outdoors and excellent food. It also offers one of the lake’s best views – catch it just as the sun is setting for the very best experience. The food is another reason to visit. Much of the menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, with high-quality ingredients. We recommend lunch or dinner here, on the large patio with ample outdoor seating. You can also choose the indoor bar for some additional space.
Lakeview is managed by Chef Sean Keeney and offers an incredible menu. It’s not an overcrowded space, either. There’s plenty of room to spread out and big, floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the outdoors to come in. The menu, which really has changed over time, has some excellent additions – it is sure to be a favorite for anyone visiting the Poconos. It also has some picturesque views of the golf course.
Incredible seafood and rich, decadent foods make Windsor the location you want to visit during your stay in the Poconos. Windsor is also located at Skytop Lodge. It has numerous impressive views, including a stunning garden right along the edge of the property. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (why not check out the views right before sunrise?) You’ll also appreciate that much of the food comes from local farmers. Executive Chef Christopher Chludzinski offers fresh foods on a traditional menu each season.
If you hope to enjoy an elegant dinner or want a private meal with good food, Windsor is the perfect place. The food is traditional cuisine, but it’s elegant here. Don’t be afraid to ask for a table that’s close to a window, so you can see the outstanding views outside. It’s been called one of the most elegant fine dining locations in the area. Be sure to ask about the wine cellar – there’s a bottle of your favorite wine or even something new waiting for you here. There’s even live entertainment at various times of the year.
Located a short drive away, The Fairway Grille at Buck Hills Falls offers an excellent selection of food with some modern but rustic charm to it. It’s a unique blend of flavors for sure. It’s located near Buck Hill Golf Club. If you’re venturing that way for a round of golf, make plans to stay for dinner at the restaurant. Catch the view of the rolling hills and stunning sunset if you get a chance. Every dish on the menu is handcrafted to provide exceptional cuisine.
While the view here is decent, the food is excellent. Frogtown Chophouse offers a lot of options for those who want a true American steakhouse. We encourage you to check out the hand-cut New York stripe or the Wagyu beef. There are a lot of other dishes, including fresh seafood on the menu. The children’s selection itself looks appetizing. Now, the view may be a bit less outdoor-focused, but on a cool night in the spring or fall, that roaring fire makes for the perfect backdrop. Outdoor dining is sometimes available, too.
If you want something a bit more laid back with outdoor seating, the PourHouse Neighborhood Bar & Grille may be a good option. It has a strong rustic feel to it inside with ample space for the entire family. The outdoor patio helps you to take in the surrounding area with an easy, relaxed feel. This is a family-friendly restaurant with lots of fun things happening during the warmer months, including live entertainment, big games on the big screen, and good food. The beer menu is extensive, too. Definitely worth a trip for those who want laid back, delicious food.
For a fun place to enjoy yummy food, check out Van Glider’s Jubilee Restaurant. It is in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. It’s a solid option for breakfast if you are planning an early trip out. However, there’s also lunch, dinner, and late-night fun to be had here. Kids are welcome, too. The view is of the surrounding hillside. At the time of this writing, there were no outdoor seating areas, but there are a number of exceptional views from the windows. You may find that the food here is laid back, easy-to-enjoy options, and the fun trivia night makes it engaging for everyone in the family.
If you love the water and want to have a good meal overlooking it, consider what Nick’s Lakehouse Restaurant has to offer. You will need to book reservations for your stay here (it gets busy during tourism season). If you decide to make the drive to this location, you’ll find some outstanding food, including stews, ribs, and steak. Fish and chips is another solid choice. The atmosphere is relaxed, providing guests with something for everyone. There’s also a large breakfast menu which can be hard to pass up.
A quick note from our team at Skytop Lodge. Many of the restaurants in the area have limitations due to social distancing requirements or because they are closed during the offseason. Some are only available on the weekends. All those mentioned here, as those available otherwise, are worth giving a call to. Many are locally owned businesses that appreciate your business. Take a few minutes to give them a call to find out if they are open!
When it comes to finding the right Poconos resort, we encourage you to check out all Skytop Lodge has to offer. You’ll find that outdoor seating with a view you desire – and much more – when you choose to stay with us. It’s easy to book your stay, and you’ll love every moment of the activities and amenities here. Ready to start relaxing?
