Camelback Mountain is the highest peak of the Pocono Mountains and offers many different vantage points at the top. The Indian Trail, a 1.3-mile loop from the summit within Big Pocono State Park provides spectacular views of the Delaware Water Gap.
The Pocono Mountains offer many abundant ski slopes in the winter. Seeing the mountains blanketed in snow is a sight that brings thousands of tourists to the area every year.
This national recreation area is about a 45-minute drive from Skytop Lodge. Dingmans Falls is a popular sight within the area. Hiking the Appalachian Mountains in Pennsylvania is known for its flat rocky ridges. You can find hundreds of hikes within the Appalachian Trail. Most notably is the day hike up to Hawk Rock Overlook at Cove Mountain. You’ll find the trailhead in the small town of Duncannon.
Known as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, Pine Creek Gorge is located in northern Pennsylvania near downtown Wellsboro. This geological wonder is carved into the Allegheny Plateau. The gorge is about 50 miles long and 1,000 feet deep and splits Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks.
Along with taking in the stunning views, visitors can hike, camp, and snowmobile through the mountains.
